Extracts from Iron Acton Court Rolls 1374-1397

1374 ............Stinchcombe 3d for falsely bringing an action

1374  John Stinchcombe fined 6d for brewing and breaking the assize

1375  John Stinchcombe Junior plantiff on the surety of the bailiff v John Polyinge in a plea of trespass for mowing in his meadow at Northmeade, damages assessed           at  40d which John Polyinge denies and submits himself to the judgement of the court so the entire homage are ordered to return a verdict before the next court           on  penalty of 40d

1375 John Polyinge fined 3d for trespass in John Stinchcombe’s oats at Warrefelde with his farm horses , damages assessed at 6d which he is ordered to pay.

1375 John Polyinge fined 4d for bringing a false suit v John Stinchcombe for trespass.

1375 The Bailiff fined 3d for not producing in court John Tyler for whom he stood surety to answer John Stinchcombe junior in a plea of trespass.

1394 Robert Stinchcombe fined 2s for not producing in court the tenants of the lands and tenements which were formerly Richard de Acton’s to do homage and fealty,           and it is ordered that they be destrained more heavily before the next court.

1395 William Stinchcombe (and others) each pay the lord one half pound of wax at Michaelmas as avowry for licence to dwell within the liberties of the manor.

1396 Robert Stinchcombe  fined for not producing in court the tenants of the lands and tenements which were formerly Richard de Acton’s to do homage and fealty,and           it is ordered that they be destrained more heavily before the next court.
