Men and Armour was produced in 1608 it is a survey of all able bodied 
men fit for service in the county of Gloucestershire for Lord Berkley by Smythe of North Nibley 

The ages vary from abt 20 to abt 50 these are coded 1 =20 2=20-30 
3=30+ they are also graded by stature a Tall man P fit for service with 
Pike a Medium Build man M fit for service with Musket a Shorter Man C 
fit for service with a calyver. Y denotes a man that has had some 
military training
